When an individual's beliefs do not align with their cultural or family's belief, it can create distress, anxiety, and other challenging emotions. As an Afro-Latina bilingual Marriage and Family therapist, Sheila works with many members of marginalized communities to talk about their unique experience and to break down barriers and stigma around mental health. Sheila has extensive experience working with immigrants and individuals of diverse ethnic and social economic backgrounds.
